Linden man found dead after struggling with neighbors

Kaieteur News – Linden police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Linden farmer, whose lifeless body was found in a track near his home Saturday night. Dead is 47, Samuel De Souza, a farmer at Lot 50 Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden.
According to police, the now deceased man lived alone. Police also reported that before he was found dead, he had a alternate with a girl who, along with her daughter, confronted him. He subsequently ran off through the track that led to his home but sometime later, two unidentified men exited the said track and informed the woman and her daughter that the victim had died.
His brother, Jacob De Souza, told Kaieteur News that his brother told him last Sunday that he was having problems with a neighbor, who was becoming violent. “He told me that he and the neighbor (given name) had a problem, and he said I want you to listen to me carefully what I have to tell you. He said the neighbor was drinking and breaking a bottle in front of the shop and when he asked why he did it he was drawing scissors and joking it and my brother is hiding it, ”the brother related. He said when he went Saturday to check on his brother, he was told he was murdered. Neighbors related to him that the feudal that began the week before continued with the named individual and his family, which included two women. After another physical moment on Saturday, he left his brother to walk through the track to go home and someone in the community came to know that he was lying in the track dead. “Everyone knows my brother, he is humble and quiet, he chooses no trouble. They always come and thief out that it’s fruit and so from the yard, ”said Jacob De Souza further.
When police visited the scene, the deceased was seen lying on his back in the track in front of his home. The spear of a wooden handle was seen resting on his body with what appeared to be blood. Three knives and a screw driver were found in the waistband of the deceased pants. His right mouth and ear had what seemed to be blood flowing from it. Superficial bruises were seen on the exposed parts of his body.
The deceased was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Neighbors described De Souza as an active and quiet individual.
The two women were taken into custody and were said to be assisting the police in their investigation.
According to police, a port mortem was conducted on DeSouza’s remains yesterday by Government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh, at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary.
According to police, Dr. Singh cause of death such as hypotension and gastritis. The medical practitioner explained that the internal bleeding was caused by frequent movement of the deceased which led to the hypotension. He further added that this was also caused by the deceased smoking and drinking alcohol found in his stomach.
The body was then handed over to relatives for burial.
