Locals excited about new golf community

Kaieteur News- Several golf enthusiasts have expressed their delight at the new golf community that will be built at Maraiko Bay Resorts in Mahaica, Demerara East Coast following a trip to the area last Sunday.
The Guyana Golf Association and Nexgen Golf Academy have been working tirelessly in promoting the sport and several locals have held training sessions at the Academy at Woolford Avenue.
As part of their promotion, Maraiko Bay Resorts, which attracted worldwide attention in August 2020 when CIMGRO officially unveiled its stunning design for its $ 1.4B US Golf and Country Club Estates, has opened its first retail outlet from her kind in Giftland, the country area. the largest mall, and promises to give one of their first 100 clients a Free Condo and a year of using a complimentary electric car for the first 100 renters.

Maraiko Bay’s facilities include a school, hospital, shopping center, PGA standard championship golf course, marina and superb beach. All of the luxurious, yet affordable homes are tucked away in the midst of centuries-old trees and all are designed to provide an unobstructed vista of the majestic Mahaica River, a standard 18-hole PGA championship golf course and the magnificent two miles of wide sandy beach along the Atlantic Ocean.
Local golfer Samaria Deonauth, who is also part of Nesha Flower Land, said the project will help improve the standard of this sport. “We have limited entertainment in Guyana so with this initiative Guyanese can expect much more in terms of golf. This will improve the skill level of players which will pave the way for them to compete at the international level, ”he said.
Melissa Khan, a newcomer to the sport, said this was a wonderful undertaking. “This will boost tourism and golf sports. Having a standard PGA course can do a lot for the sport so our players should be able to improve their performance locally and abroad. ”Leon Dowlin, an immigrant, noted that this bodes well for the Guyanese community.
CIMGRO plans to develop just 34% of the massive 1,000+ acre site for housing needs. An aggressive build schedule backed by local and multinational companies with years of experience and expertise, coupled with innovative, multilateral construction solutions achieves Phase I (nine holes of golf, condos, homes, shopping, school and hospital) in the schedule predicted, according to the developers.
One of the developers, Rudy Ramalingum explained that their approach to design and construction is unique in that by offering investors the land to build homes, hotels, shopping centers and other amenities at low prices or as a joint venture, flooded with them dozens of offers from companies and individuals who see Guyana as the last investment frontier of the 20th century.
Prospective buyers and local renters can visit the Maraiko Bay showroom at Giftland Mall daily from 10:00 hrs-21: 00hrs and sign up to win a complimentary visit to the project which includes a beach and river trip, lunch and a drink.
