Thirty-three-year-old Seechand Persaud of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) was fined $ 100,000 on Thursday – with a default sentence of two months imprisonment – on a charge of breaking and entering and robbing.
He appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ali-Seepaul at Leonora Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to the offense.
The charge against him stated that he broke into the dwelling of Romel Amsterdam, a 38-year-old laborer, between January 12 and January 14, 2021, in the Tuschen New Deal, EBE, and stole several items.
After committing the act, Persaud was arrested and charged.
