MERRY CHRISTMAS! – Kaieteur News

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Kaieteur News – Christmas is a time to send special greetings to everyone, even to those who seem to not deserve such greetings. Christmas should be about everyone, and since most Christmas Day columns are dedicated to the good, I have decided this year to draw special attention to those who are often considered unpleasant of desires Christmas.
This column is especially dedicated to everyone, whose actions have damaged our society and are setting a poor example in our country. To them all, this column sends out special Christmas wishes and hopes that in the New Year they will change their wicked ways and turn a new leaf so that our country, in the words of this newspaper’s publisher, Mr. Glenn Lall, “Can move on.”
Among those to whom these Christmas greetings are dedicated are those individuals who bailed our people’s future barefoot through their betrayal in their dealings with the oil companies. Those whose sticky fingers continue to steal from the public purse are also listed. These people know who they are.
There are crocks and thieves behind bars in the prison, but there are also many others who are in positions of power and authority who rejoice in public funds. Some who are rude (or ashamed, depending on how you look at it) benefit from the sweetness they receive because they have friends and contacts in the right places.
Merry Christmas to you all and we hope that next year you all go to prison.
For everyone who feels that the treasury is one big jar of cookies that they are free to dip their sticky hands with, this column sends your wishes for a Merry Christmas and hopes just like the crooks and bandits you will also go straight to prison, come next year, so that our country will move forward.
Then there are those slackers in our society who are too lazy or unwilling to perform, yet want to benefit from taxpayer contributions. Merry Christmas to you too. Hopefully the New Year will give you cause to turn over a new leaf so that things can improve in Guyana.
Then there are procrastinators among us who like to delay, and in the process, cause a lot of suffering to others. Merry Christmas to you all, and hopefully next year, your actions will be highlighted further and you will receive the boot.
I also cannot forget the many bribe-takers among us. Merry Christmas to them too. They have ridiculed themselves over the last year, but become richer for it.
They have forced many a little man to dig deep into his savings to be able to satisfy their own craving for money. They need to turn over a new leaf.
Then there are those who tear the country away through substandard work. Christmas greetings are extended into this special category. Hopefully, they will examine what they are doing and decide if next year, they will ensure that Guyanese get value for money. Hopefully they have the conscience to return all of their poor earnings to the people of Guyana and commit never again to giving six for nine.
To all those rabid, kick-back contractors, I extend Season’s Greetings. Stop giving bribes to win contracts. This is not good for the country. Take this vacation period to decide to end this practice and give more back to Guyana than you receive. This country would be a better place.
To all those “innocent” functional officers who accept these obstacles, I urge them to abandon this dreadful practice.
Stop thieves, stop bribes; stop ripping Guyana’s taxpayers. Stop it! It’s not good for Guyana.
You steal poor people. Some of these functions are so rich that they don’t know what they own. Stop thieves so much. Stop the corruption.
Among the corrupt are those who feel that the country belongs to them to do as they please, who feel entitled to make their friends richer at the expense of the poor of this country.
They also deserve our Christmas wishes at this time.
I reserve my last best wishes to those who should be deported for trying to steal the elections. This is a pitiful cry for who can have no salvation. Their wickedness was pure evil.
For all the bad guys in Guyana, for all the rogues, thieves and thieves who sit behind desks and within our political parties, this column offers holiday greetings. And in the words of the young hero of the children’s film ‘Home Alone’: “Merry Christmas you dirty animals!”
