A minibus driver from Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was arrested Tuesday after he attacked a traffic jam with a broken heart at Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.
Based on reports received, at approximately 13: 15h, a Police Constable was on motorcycle patrol when he saw a minibus bearing registration number BZZ 3029 overtaking a traffic line along Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown.
The minibus was intercepted and the driver was told of the offense and asked to produce his driver’s license but instead of doing so, he probably drove away.
The Constable gave chase and caught up with the minibus on Sheriff Street, Georgetown. He again stopped the driver in an attempt to stop him committing the same offense.
However, the driver left the vehicle, took a heartbreaking photo and attacked the Constable, who ran in an attempt to prevent himself from being hurt.
After the attack, the driver returned to his minibus and drove to his residence in Sophia. The matter was reported and the suspect was arrested at his home and transported to Brickdam Police Station where he remains in custody until charged.
