Mumbai Indians staff experience positive days before starting IPL

MUMBAI, (Reuters) – Mumbai Indians’ scout and wicketkeeping consultant, Kiran More, has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins on Friday.

The Mumbai Champions said yesterday that the former wicket-keeper More, 58, was currently showing no symptoms and has been isolated.

The Rohit Sharma-led side are camping in Chennai where they will open their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore, who captains the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

“Mumbai Indians and Kiran More have followed all BCCI health guidelines. The MI medical team will continue to monitor More’s health and adhere to BCCI protocols, ”the team said in a Twitter post.

Players and staff are staying in a limited health environment for IPL this year, which will be played across six locations in India, initially without viewers.
