Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his third double-double in as many games, and the Milwaukee Bucks held a second-half surge to beat the Washington Wizards 133-122 on Monday.
Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in his fourth consecutive triple – counting his Most Valuable Player performance in the March 7 All-Star Game.
Milwaukee’s Brook Lopez shot 8 of 12 from the floor for 22 points and Khris Middleton added 23 points. The trio accelerated the Bucks through the 1/2 1/2 first quarter, pushing the lead to as many as 26 points in the third quarter.
Behind Bradley Beal, who scored 26 of his game-high 37 points in the second half, Washington closed in at seven with just over four minutes remaining. Russell Westbrook finished with 23 points and a game-high 17 assists, while Rui Hachimura added 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Los Angeles Lakers 128 – Golden State Warriors 97
LeBron James recorded a 98th double-double of his career and Montrezl Harrell scored 15 of his team-high 27 points in the second quarter, when Los Angeles pulled away from Golden State on its way to victory in San Francisco.
James’ double triple, his fourth of the season, included 22 points and game-highs of 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Talen Horton-Tucker added 18 points for the Lakers while Kyle Kuzma had 17.
Stephen Curry scored 27 points to lead the Warriors, who lost for the fifth time in their last six games. Andrew Wiggins broke with 15 points.
Brooklyn Nets 117 – New York Knicks 112
Kyrie Irving scored 34 points and James Harden posted his 10th double-triple of the season with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists as Brooklyn hosted New York.
Harden went into the fourth quarter one shy bounce of the triple double and got it 41 seconds into the period. In the end, the Nets secured their 13th win in 14 games.
Julius Randle led the Knicks with 33 points and 12 rebounds, and RJ Barrett chipped in 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Los Angeles Clippers 109 – Dallas Mavericks 99
Kawhi Leonard tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as Los Angeles used a balanced attack to win in Dallas.
Ivica Zubac (15 points, 11 rebounds) made his Clippers second start of the season while Marcus Morris Sr. started. (14 points) for the third time.
Luka Doncic produced 25 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks while Kristaps Porzingis added 22 points and seven rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 21 points off the Dallas bench.
Denver Nuggets 121 – Indiana Pacers 106
Nikola Jokic had 32 points and 14 rebounds, Will Barton and Michael Porter Jr. scored 20 points each as the host rallied to beat Indiana.
JaMychal Green and Jamal Murray added 16 apiece to the Nuggets, which outrebounded the Pacers 34-15 in the fourth quarter.
Malcolm Brogdon scored 24 points, Justin Holiday added 19, and Caris LeVert had 17 for the Pacers.
Charlotte Hornets 122 – Sacramento Kings 116
Terry Rozier had a big piece late in the game, including a 3-point forward basket, to finish with 26 points as Charlotte rallied to defeat visiting Sacramento.
Gordon Hayward tacked on 25 points, LaMelo Ball had 16 points, Devonte ‘Graham posted 12 points and PJ Washington and Miles Bridges supplied Charlotte with 10 points.
De’Aaron Fox grabbed 29 points, Hield had 23 points, Richaun Holmes poured 17 points to go with 15 rebounds for the Kings, who have missed the first two outings of a six-game road trip. Sacramento had another key loss as Marvin Bagley III left with a broken left hand.
San Antonio Spurs 109 – Detroit Pistons 99
Dejounte Murray had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as San Antonio bounced back from a lopsided loss the previous night by rolling past a Detroit host.
San Antonio, blown out 134-99 by Philadelphia on Sunday, took the lead in the second quarter and held it the rest of the way. Jakob Poeltl supplied 14 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and two assists while Patty Mills threw 14 points off the bench.
Josh Jackson’s 15 points led to Detroit, which has lost four straight. Jerami Grant had 14 points and Rodney McGruder added 13 in his first start this season.
Phoenix Suns 122 – Memphis Grizzlies 99
Devin Booker recorded 27 points and five assists to help Phoenix roll to victory over visiting Memphis. Chris Paul scored 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added seven assists and four steals as the Suns.
Deandre Ayton registered 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots for Phoenix, who won for the 18th time in the last 22 games. Jae Crowder paid 14 points and Cameron Payne had 13.
Jonas Valanciunas had 24 points and 17 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have lost three straight games and four of their last five.
