De Essequibo Cricket Committee (SECC) representatives from 10 clubs on Thursday cast their votes to elect its executive committee, aimed at promoting and managing cricket in South Essequibo.

The long-awaited election resulted in an 11-member executive committee, with Fezal Mohammed becoming the Chairman. Mohammed will lead the committee consisting of Vice Chairman Hemraj Doobay; Secretary Rayon DeCosta; Sherkhan Khan Treasurer; Assistant Secretary / Treasurer Andy E Ramnarine; Public Relations Officer Otis Roberts; Competition Chairman Timor Mohammed; Chairman of the Selectmen, Royan Fredricks and Committee Members Daniel Stoll, Vishnu Persaud, and Isaiah Latchman.
The committee remains committed to serving members of the Clubs in the South Essequibo area. The SECC would also like to thank all its supporters and wise men for their extensive support as it strives to keep the game alive during such a difficult period of transition to sport in our nation and around the world.
