Forty-seven-year-old Lester Williams of Kuru Kururu Soesdyke, Linden, was killed early Sunday morning when he lost control of his car and crashed into a motor truck parked on the Soesdyke Public Road, Demerara East Bank.
According to a police report, the accident happened around 02:00h and involved a #HC 8750 motor car owned and driven by Williams and a #GNN 5308 motor truck.
Police inquiries revealed that Williams was processing northbound along the west side of the road at a high speed when he lost control and collided with the truck parked on the west side of the southbound road.
Williams received injuries for his body and was picked up by police and public-spirited citizens and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead.
