The body of the third person was found missing

Abandoned trio at 63 Beach…

Sherida Hussain (deceased)

Kaieteur News – Almost a month after going missing, the third person found, abandoned by a boat operator, was found on a sand bank some distance away from Beach No. 63 on February 9, 2021.

Regional Manager Jairam Ramlakhan confirmed with this announcement that the remains of Sherida Hussain, of Lot 27 Pilot Street, New Amsterdam, were found nestled among branches of trees and shrubs on Foreshore No. 48, by Fisherman on Thursday night. Police were reported and visited the scene with Joshua Samaroo, Hussain’s son.

His body was positively identified by him with a differential mark on her foot. The body was escorted to Anthony’s Funeral Parlor, awaiting a post mortem examination.

Hussein, along with Babuni Harrier and Alwin Joseph, left Suriname to return to Guyana in February and were all abandoned by the captain of the boat they were returning with. The Captain dropped the trio on a sandbank, a distance away from the foreshore of beach No. 63, an illegal and often used back-track access.

The captain had told authorities in Suriname that he believed the trio had dropped off the beach. The bodies of Joseph and Harrier were found soon after but Hussein’s body remained missing while their belongings were found. Her son will close some now that her remains are located.
