There is no magic bullet

Let me tell you some things that many people would like to hear and believe: Take this pill and you will lose 15 lbs in a week. Drink this detox or juice cleanse and you will lose weight immediately, be healthier and rid your body of toxins. Sugar and carbs are really bad and if you cut them off completely you will lose weight quite easily.

Now, let me tell you the reality: In order to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit (eat fewer calories than you burn / consume in a day). You don’t need to cut carbs completely, take a crazy pill or drink some special tea or juice.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating, there is actual science as well as endless studies that prove that all you need to lose weight is a caloric deficit. No matter what diet you follow, you are the only one who loses from believing in talking fake media and pseudo-science. Probably your wallet too, and that has also been proven time and time again.

There is no magic bullet that will achieve the strong, healthy body you want. You have to put in the work. Now, let’s talk about motivation and strength and how they work.

Motivation is what makes you productive once or a few times, consistency is what keeps you productive in the long run.

There is hype around feeling motivated to get things done. However, without the discipline to really get started, the perseverance to keep going and the consistency to stay in it every day, you won’t get the results you want, that’s how it works.

Outcomes require discipline, perseverance and consistency in achieving goals, and goals breed motivation. As it happens, it’s a trick.

Strength

We will define strength as the ability to achieve something, even in difficult situations. You should not let the fact that you do not know what you are doing stop you from doing anything. Whatever we do, even the most basic things like walking, reading, working or dating, we all start everything from a place we don’t know. We start and we do and by doing, we learn. We may not get it right the first time, but we will eventually once we stick with it.

In my own fitness journey, I took steps and ventured. I’ve had what I saw as failures, but which, in retrospect, have actually been huge victories. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and gain, grow and build strength.
