Dear Editor,
In circulation is a Facebook posting of the Guyana Government voting against the UN Resolution on a call for action to eliminate racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. That posting, which has the UN logo on it, was made by PNC’s known party hack, a person who is vehemently opposed to anything progressive that the PPP / C Government stands for, and therefore not unsurprisingly, he would post such misleading. news.
Now, this writer could argue that he has the right to post dissenting opinions on the government, something that falls under the free speech category, however, he is out of his right to give an illegal posting especially by that it is under the heading of the United Nations logo. This is extremely misleading and libelous literature and I hope that the Government can take it up in court and make it expensive for its lies. Such blatant disregard is unacceptable and every effort should be made to address this.
Guyana can’t afford to have such diabolical elements in staring gay, it’s definitely a sick joke that needs to stop now! A sound financial judgment in a court of law would teach him a lesson in not respecting an international organization with his unabashed intelligence. It will also teach him to direct his energy to some useful purpose.
Respectfully,
Neil Adams
