The fourth victim, ‘Roof’, also received emergency medical care and is listed in critical condition at the hospital.

It showed video making the rounds on social media, the car driving in the wrong direction – the other side of West Main Road, when it should have been at the other end.

Although not confirmed by police.

Yesterday, when Guardian Media visited the families of the three victims, they all explained that they were in shock and very distressed and could not “find the strength to speak to the media about their loved ones who died in the accident horrible. ”

However, Hayes’ mother Leseli Ashaki said she had spoken to her son on Saturday night to “check in with him.”

He told us, “I called him and told him not to be out on the streets and said he wasn’t going anywhere there to hear this, it’s shocking and overwhelming to me,” Ashaki said.

Ashaki said her son would have been celebrating his 22nd birthday next month and was due to migrate to Canada to live with his father but had one obstacle in his way – a court case.

“He had two cases before the Court and one was thrown away so we expected when he was due to go on the 28th of this month that he too would have been dismissed. His police record was the only thing he was waiting on to migrate with his father. He was the only child of his father. He worked as a laborer. ”

At the scene of the accident, bereaved family members donated flowers and three candles to commemorate the young lives cut short.
