Tradewinds security exercise to be conducted at several locations here – US Embassy

Military representatives from the United States and 23 nations are taking part this week at the Final Planning Conference for the Tradewinds exercise, an international Caribbean security exercise, sponsored by the US Command.

A statement today from the U.S. Embassy said that Tradewinds 2021 will take place in June and will be held at several locations in Guyana.

“All training locations provide opportunities to conduct joint, joint and interagency partner-country capacity building that focuses on increasing regional cooperation in complex international security operations, as well as in humanitarian aid and disaster response operations.

“This year’s exercise will include participation by officers and senior leadership of CARICOM and its functional sub-agencies, many of whom are participating in this week’s planning conference. The strong relationships formed during Tradewinds through the exchange of knowledge and expertise are key to maintaining regional security and prosperity throughout the Caribbean, ”the statement said.
