Trinidad, a Guyana game could decide who moves forward

With the Golden Jaguars set to open their FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign against arch-rival Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow, the former Vurlon Mills International feels that a meeting could ultimately determine who moves forward to the next round in the prestigious tournament.

In an exclusive interview yesterday with Stabroek Sport, Mills, who retired from international play in 2020, said, “I think if we don’t get a positive result against Trinidad and Tobago it will affect us going forward. This result is very important for Guyana, mainly to boost our confidence and this game can decide whether we want to get through or not. It’s going to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the team, we definitely need a result because it can possibly decide whether or not we move on to the next round. I think we can move on if we get the win. ”
