We look forward to more successes in 2021 – Kaieteur News

We look forward to more achievements in 2021

DEAR EDITOR,

As the year draws to a close, we need to take time to reflect on our successes. Parents, teachers, guardians and caregivers at all levels have continually supported and protected the nations’ children despite the ongoing battle with the Coronavirus. While our frontline workers continue to work tirelessly to ensure our overall safety, the large number of parents, caregivers and teachers who defend the future of our nation on a daily basis remain locked up and focused as ever.
2020 is a year that we believe will be remembered for a very long time and although there are many situations that led to sadness, there are still many who called for celebration and the time has come to give praise where praise is due. To the parents and service providers / frontline social welfare and health workers and all our partners who have continued to fulfill their duties and even taken more than their share in this difficult time and also for the guardians who have been tried and tested and yet persevered, at ChildLink we say thank you. Your selfless efforts and constant attention to the younger ones are building a nation, we expressed our gratitude and look forward to more achievements in 2021.
Furthermore, in recognition of these efforts to protect children, many of which we do not hear because of the nature of good deeds, we say thank you and Merry Christmas. We hope that the new year brings you lasting strength, peace, joy, happiness and wealth. Will you continue to do the good work you have been doing and influence more adults to protect children in their care.
ChildLinK works with local and international development partners to create a Guyanese society where all children grow up in a loving, safe family and community. The Reintegration Protection Reintegration initiative is supported by the European Union Delegation to Guyana and partners with the CPA and several agencies to reintegrate children into safe families and educate the wider society on child abuse prevention. Write to us with your comments and questions. Let us know how you would like to get involved in child protection in your community by emailing us at [email protected] Report child abuse by calling the CPA at 227-0979, the nearest police station or ChildLinK at 233-3500 or email: [email protected] Overall, the determination to become better as a nation is our greatest strength. We can do better, together.
