Woe to water in a garbage city

The trash bin has been sitting at the gate for a week, waiting to be cleared. Guests entering the yard are greeted by the putrid smell. Flocks of insects, rodents and insects feast on the decaying foods as the maggots increase. I searched the news for an announcement I might have missed about a new schedule for garbage collection. I found an article from January and the day for clearing the junk in my area was unchanged. The neighbor told me they came three days late when I wasn’t home but just took some of the junk and left the rest with a promise to return later. But days went by and they never returned. I was one of the unfortunate ones with a bin full of rot.

There have been complaints that the garbage in many areas is collected periodically. It’s unacceptable and another sign of how we humans are often treated as trash. While what is in a bag and taken to landfill is buried and recycled, our society is constantly crumbling.
