This now takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 253.

The latest death is one 41-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) who died Saturday while being cared for at a medical facility.

The MOH sincerely sympathizes with the deceased’s family and will make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time to provide any assistance needed.

The Ministry is also appealing to the public to respect the confidentiality of the deceased and her family and to allow them to mourn their tragic loss in peace.

All Guyanese are reminded to observe the COVID-19 EMERGENCY MEASURES protocols (NO.16), in force until April 30, 2021.

This order emphasizes, among other things, the need to use a face mask correctly and consistently when leaving your home; the importance of maintaining the physical distance six feet from others; and the need for good hand hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
